Katapult is celebrating the appointment on another IP-based themed attraction project, this time on a UK theme park expansion project.
Already the number one dinosaur-themed adventure park in the UK, ROARR! is about to get even bigger and better in 2024. Taking the fun to a whole new level, the plan is to open a brand new four-acre interactive play-themed area based on the internationally renowned Netflix, Tiny Pop and Disney+ hit series, Gigantosaurus.
Gigantosaurus
Gigantosaurus Land has been designed to actively encourage exciting new exploratory and sensory family play. Guests will be able to get to grips with epic new interactive concepts that feature many fan favourites from the show, including Rocky, Bill, Mazu and Tiny.
Guests will marvel at the vertical volcano themed drop ride, the spinning flower teacups, refreshing water play, jumping pillow, and a towering wooden play ‘n’ climb den. For younger explorers, a smaller play area will also be created where kids can whiz down a slide made of Giganto’s very own scales.
Co-Founder and Chief Creative Officer at Katapult, Phil Higgins said, “We are thrilled to be working with ROARR! to design the vision and master plan for the park expansion. It has been a great opportunity for us to bring our experience of working with both global IPs and UK attractions, to design a truly immersive and interactive new land with family fun at its heart.”
Cartoon Network
Following the news of Katapult’s appointment on Gigantosaurus Land, was the official launch of IP family entertainment centre, Cartoon Network World Kuwait. Working alongside operator Future Kid, Katapult has designed and developed a 3,000sqm immersive experience with dynamic simulator rides and physical play challenges.
The FEC, which opened in October, has also been brought to life with Cartoon Network’s most popular IPs including Ben 10, Adventure Time, The Amazing World of Gumball, We Bare Bears and The Powerpuff Girls.
Katapult continues to have working relationships with many of the world’s most renowned IPs, including The LEGO® Group and Ferrari - securing their status as one of the most trusted themed attraction design companies in the industry. Their recent success has led to an expansion of their team, with former Disney Imagineer and seasoned experiential designer, Andy Sinclair-Harris, joining Katapult as Creative Director.
The LEGO® Group
As part of The LEGO® Group global Rebuild the World campaign, Katapult worked with 8 of Merlin Entertainments, LEGOLAND® Parks worldwide to introduce guests to an amazing new brand activation, ‘PLANET LEGOLAND’, an experience in which guests can build, unbuild and rebuild the theme park of their dreams. This build experience for children and parents, helped unlock creative potential by getting guests creative with a hands-on brick experience.
Ferrari
The Ferrari Experience is a media-based attraction, featuring immersive simulator rides, an esports adrenalin hub and exclusive themed dining experiences for all the family to enjoy.
