BOOKKEEPER & FINANCE MANAGER
Having everything in its place, in order, is what you love. Ensuring that the day-to-day financial aspects of the business are run smoothly, with any issues raised and resolved in a timely manner.
Central to the role is that the financial processes are simplified to reduce the administration of others in the team and that the business finances are kept healthy. You will have the knowledge to look into the details of the accounts, make recommendations and raise queries, working closely with company accountants and leadership team.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Delight through timely payments, client credit control and checks

Maintaining bookkeeping accounts, financial process, support, administration

Monthly/annual management reporting

Supporting project business case P&L’s, funding applications and processing
The role will involve managing the finance function of the business across a wide spectrum of day-to-day activities including bookkeeping, accounts preparation, anticipated revenue, budget forecasting, financial analysis, related administration, project financial reporting & billings and reporting to the Leadership Team.
Candidates must be strong financially and be able to demonstrate experience in a similar role, previous experience of working in a similar role at a design/creative company would be beneficial, though this is not essential. There is also some activity around the partnership accounts for the premises involving rental and service charges.
JOB SUMMARY & REQUIREMENTS
(WHAT YOU WILL DO)

Assisting with the smooth day-to-day running of the finance function, to cover all aspects of the accounting-related administration matters. The company uses QuickBooks accounting software.

Assisting with the project financial tracking system (Synergist), raising of sales invoices, and posting of supplier invoices

Dealing with daily cash transactions including receipts and payments, and bank reconciliations

Timely and accurate invoicing to clients and credit control

Managing healthy cash flow with timely payment of invoices and suppliers

Posting of journal entries, nominal ledger and monthly balance sheet reconciliations

Preparation of VAT returns (which is supported by Accountant)

Assistance with monthly payroll and PAYE payments (which is supported by Accountant)

Management of internal budgets

Experienced in billing international clients (especially US and UAE) in multiple currencies

Preparation of monthly management pack including cash flow, profit and loss, and balance sheets – all supported by a relevant commentary

Assist with forecasting, budgeting, cash burn analysis, and KPI monitoring

Financial analysis, including commercial analyses such as client profitability

Dealing with all related matters in respect of finance and administration

Processing company credit cards and team expense reports

Ensuring proper connections between Synergist and Quickbooks through the alignment of nominal codes, supplier types, and other data.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
We're looking for a candidate with at least 5 years post qualified experience and ideally to be qualified with one of the 3 main institutes:

ICAEW Qualified (Institute of Chartered Accountants England & Wales)
